What DjCrow is
DjCrow is a web app for queueing music videos and switching between them like a DJ. All music is played from YouTube, inside YouTube’s own embedded player.
DjCrow uses YouTube API Services
DjCrow uses the YouTube API Services (the YouTube Data API and the YouTube embedded player) to search for videos, show song details and play them. By using DjCrow you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
When a YouTube video plays, YouTube and Google may collect information about that playback under the Google Privacy Policy. DjCrow has no control over that data.
What DjCrow stores, and where
DjCrow has no accounts and no server of its own. It does not collect your name, email or location, and it does not send your data to us. Everything below is kept only in your browser’s local storage on your own device:
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Play history (song title, channel, thumbnail link, video ID, time played) | History list, “Previous song”, suggestions | Deleted automatically after 30 days |
| Search results (song titles, channels, thumbnail links) | Faster repeat searches, fewer YouTube requests | 6 to 24 hours |
| Your queue and the song you were playing | So a reload continues where you were | Until you change or clear the queue |
| Start points you set, settings (Auto DJ, suggestions, bar hidden), imported playlists | Remember your choices | Until you delete them |
| A YouTube API key, only if you paste one yourself | To search YouTube with your own key | Until you clear it |
| A usage counter (number of YouTube requests today) | Show how much of the daily limit is used | Resets daily |
DjCrow does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
Usage counter sent to DjCrow
To keep the shared YouTube quota under control, the app sends DjCrow’s server only a count of its YouTube requests: the date, the website address it runs on (for example dj.wilyer.in), the kind of request (search, song details, playlist) and how many. No song names, no search words, no device or personal information. These counts are kept as daily totals.
Deleting your data
- Play history: Search › 🗑 Clear history, or Library › Delete all. Single songs can be removed with ×.
- Queue: Queue › Clear all. Imported playlists: open the playlist › 🗑 Remove playlist.
- Everything: clear this site’s data in your browser settings (for example Chrome › Settings › Site settings › this site › Clear data), or uninstall the app.
Children
DjCrow is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
